Kurumba: with a view of the lights

The updated Hamakaze Teppanyaki restaurant has opened on Kurumba Island - now unearthly panoramic landscapes are attached to haute cuisine. It seems, for Khamakadze, which means “coastal breeze” in Japanese, it was impossible to think of a better location than the shore of the Kurumba lagoon. The room is designed for twenty-three guests, and each of them is guaranteed a panoramic view of the ocean and the lights of Male in the distance. In this gastronomic theater, where dinner is turned into an interactive action, you can watch how upscale chefs prepare juicy meat and seafood just so that their taste is revealed in its entirety.

Local specialties - yellow tuna, sea bass and lobster - are presented on the menu along with salmon and shrimp. New items on the menu are Miso Black Cod, which has become very popular in recent years in the wake of a hobby for Japanese cuisine, baked Scottish oysters, as well as Green Tea Opera Cake. Restaurant chef Ross Chapman is encouraged by the move to a new location and the fact that the restaurant can now accommodate more guests. “We are always on the lookout for development paths, and this is one of the innovations that await the guests. We are still looking for innovative ideas in order to surprise them.”

Hamakaze is one of eight Kurumba restaurants that specialize in South Indian, Asian and Italian cuisines, as well as international classics. All this makes the island an ideal place of pilgrimage for gastronomic gourmets who want to know all the colors of the islands.
