Wat Samphan - the incredible dragon temple in Thailand

Nakhon Pathom is the oldest city in Thailand, located 50 kilometers from Bangkok. This is where tourists come, dreaming of seeing a 50-meter pink tower, around which a huge mythical dragon coils. This is one of the most amazing temples of the country, Wat Samphran, or the Temple of the Dragon.

Mention of the current Buddhist temple is unlikely to be found in guidebooks, so there are not so many tourists in this place. But the fairy-tale structure should definitely be seen with your own eyes. In addition, priests conduct meditations and various rituals at the Dragon Temple every day.

Wat Samphan consists of 17 floors, but only the first 10 are available for travelers to visit. One of them has an entrance to the "dragon body", but it’s not good to see something inside, because there are no windows or light. The remaining 7 floors are closed to outsiders and are used by monks for domestic purposes and as housing.

Being in this amazing place, do not miss the opportunity to get good luck for the whole next year. It is believed that for this it is necessary to touch the tip of the tail with the dragon, after which put the offering in the "pot of happiness" and once strike the temple gong.
