Status matter: what passengers of different classes ate on the Titanic

The Titanic sank 104 years ago. During this time, a lot has changed in our world, but one thing remains the same: the contrast between the first class and the economy.

Passengers on the dream ship were divided into first, second and third grades. The lower classes were located in the lower part of the vessel, and the first class, respectively, occupied the cabins in the upper part. In addition, a huge difference was reflected in the menu provided to these classes.

While first class passengers indulged their taste buds with L'Argenteuil eggs, chicken A La MarylandConserm Fermier and other gourmet dishes with beautiful names ...

... representatives of the second class were treated to spring lamb, plum pudding and American ice cream. That, in principle, sounds pretty good, especially in comparison with what was served to third-class passengers.

They, in turn, had to be content with stewed figs, porridge and cookies.

However, even those who were able to buy the most inexpensive ticket for the legendary airliner ate their fill, unlike most customers of modern airlines.
