They shot the film "Island"

I wanted to go to Karelia in the spring to see how nature awakens after hibernation. One of the points was the village of Rabocheostrovsk near Kem. The famous film "Island" was shot in this village. All this film, I hope, was seen, and whoever did not watch it, I highly recommend it.

So, in the footsteps of the "Island".

Sunrise on the White Sea.

And this is all that remains of the bridge on which the hero of the film walked with a wheelbarrow.

Here is what Pavel Lungin said about this:

"When they came up with bridges and a rusty car appeared. It was in the first days of filming. Suddenly this rusty car rolled - tyk-tyk-tyk on the walkways ... Water rises and falls ... And so he walked for thirty years."

The film "Island" was directed by Pavel Lungin in 2006. This house is the scenery for the film.

Here is what Lungin himself said about the location of this film:

"This is the town of Kem, from where ships with pilgrims go to Solovki. This is a place of Russian holiness, a place of martyrdom. There were gray berths from rotten logs, from where prisoners were sent to the Solovetsky camps. Berths from boards, a sunken barge around which we built the scenery, water , stones - this landscape played no less role in the film than the actors. "

I didn’t shoot inside the house. There was a lot of strange rubbish left, apparently, by tourists.

Spring is in full swing.
