23 dramatic shots from the life of albinos. People you will not envy

Albinism is the congenital absence of the pigment melanin, which is responsible for colorizing our hair and eyes, as well as for skin tone. Such a pathology is a rather rare phenomenon that occurs in one of the 20,000 inhabitants of Europe and North America. But, strangely enough, many albinos are found among the inhabitants of Africa.

Some time ago we already published material about how complicated and dangerous the lives of those who are unlucky to be born discolored on the "black" continent. In addition to the scorching sun, which is mortally dangerous for albinos, a direct threat to their life is represented by their compatriots, who literally prey on people without the usual pigment. Africans use parts of the body of albinos in their magic rituals, and also believe that the bones and skin of these people are wonderful amulets to protect against diseases and other misfortunes.

Today we bring to your attention another selection of photographs depicting the lives of people suffering from albinism.
