In the national park, people are shot to save rhinos

In the Indian state of Assam, there is the Kaziranga National Park, where they are trying their best to preserve the horned rhinos from extinction. The success of the work done is impressive: today, two thirds of the entire population of these rare animals on the planet live here. In this paradise, rhinos feel completely safe and actively breed.

You may not believe it, but such impressive results were achieved only due to the fact that the guards were given permission to shoot poachers to kill.

Such measures became compelled, since otherwise the program for the revival of Indian horned rhinos simply could not be implemented.

Poachers are hunting rhinos with might and main, in order to get their horn, whose value on the black market is much higher than gold and reaches $ 6,000 per 100 grams.

People are ready to pay crazy money for a rhino horn, because in traditional oriental medicine it is considered a magical cure for any disease, be it cancer or erectile dysfunction.

Such excitement led to the fact that literally 100 years ago in all of India, these unique animals were no more than ten.
Now in the Kaziranga park alone, 2,400 rhinos live!

And perhaps it was only thanks to the permission of the local security guards to shoot to kill at poachers entering the park to shoot rhinos. To date, park guards have killed 50 poachers.

Such a ruthless approach led to the fact that rhinos began to feel safe and began to breed actively. Now in the park you can always see cubs happily walking with their mothers.

In 2015, according to the information of the park employees, trying to save the population, their guards killed more poachers than those rhinos.

Such drastic measures cannot but cause numerous disputes. Many tourists from Western countries, when they learn about such methods of dealing with poachers at Kaziranga, believe that the park’s management goes too far.
