Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa: luxury vacation in Mauritius

If the island holiday is not fascinating, as before, and the magnificent beaches are no longer taken for the soul, then it's time to improve the level of service and move on to something more exclusive. The Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa hotel is not just five stars, it is five stars with a plus, in other words, luxury-style relaxation.

Trou aux Biches belongs to the well-known hotel chain Beachcomber Hotels. All their high-class hotels are located only in fantastically beautiful places: eight hotels in Mauritius (4-6 stars), one in the Seychelles (5 stars +), one in Marrakesh (6 stars) and another in the French Riviera (4 stars) .

Trou aux Biches is called the most romantic hotel in Mauritius, but someone else can argue with this (just not us), but what absolutely does not have to doubt is that it is the largest hotel in the Indian Ocean. 35 hectares of amazing tropical gardens, 27 detached villas, 300 rooms, a two-kilometer white sand beach, six restaurants and several pools of different sizes.

About location

The hotel is located on the northwest coast of Mauritius, which provides it with reliable protection from the winds and the best weather conditions throughout the year. At the same time, its almost endless strip of the cleanest beach is the best place to meet raspberry-lilac and terracotta-orange tropical sunsets.

By the way, Trou aux Biches beach, located on the edge of a turquoise lagoon, is rightfully called one of the most beautiful in Mauritius. The entrance to the crystal clear water is wonderful, even without a mask you can see a lot of interesting things. Sun loungers with wicker umbrellas are at a good distance from each other, the beach is never full, you always manage to choose a place away from everyone and relax in solitude.

The hotel territory is surrounded by greenery, everywhere you can see spreading coconut palms, many exotic flowers and shrubs. It seems as if you live in a real, but very well-groomed and lush garden. Here live bright funny birds that wake pleasantly and unobtrusively in the morning. Many rooms are located so that the ocean is a two to three minute walk. When morning begins with birdsong and the sound of the ocean, it is incredibly enjoyable.

Unique benefits or what is nowhere to be found.

In 2010, the Trou aux Biches was renovated and became the first eco-friendly resort on the island of Mauritius. Much attention is paid to preserving the environment, solar panels (1000 square meters) are actively used, composting systems are used, sewage collection and treatment facilities are used. Thanks to all these efforts, the hotel created a unique atmosphere of harmony with nature.

Since there are quite large spaces, it is nice to use the car service from time to time. Within five minutes, a golf buggy arrives for you and takes you wherever you need, for example, to dinner or to the gym.

Guests staying in villas (Mauritian beach bungalows) have access to a personal butler. He is able to solve any issue, take care of you and your comfort, and he can also prepare a special breakfast while you sleep. Perhaps this is the option we remember most of all. Butler helped, took care of literally everything, thought two steps forward. Returning to Moscow, we missed him very much. What can I say: you get used to the good quickly!

Another undoubted plus is the Russian-speaking hotel employee. She is always ready to prompt, guide, help, and quickly and competently. For example, it helps to rent a car to explore the island or book a special tour.

Trou aux Biches respects privacy and therefore guarantees complete privacy. Everything is arranged in such a way that you constantly feel hidden from everyone, protected from prying eyes, and this is captivating. The villas are located at a sufficient distance from each other and are additionally fenced off with lush greenery, as if hidden. An interesting and piquant detail: an open-air shower. This is unusual, but somehow very nice.

Another thing that captivated us: all the villas, as well as the Beach Front Suites and Senior Beach Front Suites have their own pools. Though small (almost like a jacuzzi), but for the rest you belong only to you. When we saw our pool, I admit, we spent almost two hours in it with great pleasure. In this hotel, everything is thought out to the smallest detail, the service is excellent, the staff is more than attentive, so everyone feels unique, and it's great! It’s good when someone is able to make you a little happier.

As for the other categories of suites, they are grouped into peculiar crescents around large pools (126 square meters).

Restaurants

Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa has six restaurants with different cuisines: Thai, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean. They work on the à la carte menu or in the buffet format. Four restaurants are located in the central area of the hotel, around the main pool. By the way, in the evenings, the backlight is romantically reflected in it and everything seems to be mirrored.

The remaining two restaurants are made in an island, more relaxed style and are located next to the beach and the Indian Ocean.

Dishes of high quality, diverse food, many tropical fruits, sometimes familiar to us, but with a completely different taste. From the unusual, we tried oysters with different sauces, sea urchin caviar, bamboo salad and Mauritian dishes.

Entertainment and sports

In the tropical gardens, a wonderful modern and spacious sports center with the latest sports equipment is hidden. In the mornings, we did not deny ourselves the pleasure of working out on simulators, joining group cardio workouts, stretching on shaping, or jumping a bit on aerobics. Almost everything except private lessons is included in the price. You can also visit a hammam for free, but it’s best to do it at the very beginning to prepare your skin for golden tan.

The hotel has six floodlit tennis courts, table tennis tables, beach volleyball, pétanque and mountain biking tours in the beautiful surroundings. Those who love water more than likely will appreciate the opportunity to go sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling or diving. You can always go water skiing, kayaking, catamarans and even glass-bottom boats (this is very exciting and, most importantly, absolutely free). I have no doubt that extreme people will be delighted with excursions on an underwater scooter.

When you want to relax, be sure to look into the luxurious Trou aux Biches SPA center with 20 rooms and try a pair Thai massage in one of the pavilions under a thatched roof. The air there is filled with the aroma of an exotic garden, and the sounds of noisy foliage soothe even more. He sleeps after massage firmly and for a long time. The body and mind finally relax completely.

Unforgettable feelings

Mauritius has many interesting sights. You can rent a car and travel the whole island, or you can do something even more interesting and exclusive - take a bird's eye view of Mauritius.

Trou aux Biches can help you book a helicopter tour to see the sights of the island from a different angle. For example, one of the wonders available from above is the “underwater waterfall,” which is easy to see in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Le Morne-Braban Peninsula in southwestern Mauritius. Unfortunately, this is just an illusion that is formed due to coral reefs, sand deposits and silt deposits, set in motion by the strongest undercurrents. Therefore, it seems that a waterfall flows under water, and its vortex jets sink directly to the ocean floor. Even the flow of the ocean from the coastal shelf, pulling sand from the bottom, can be something incredibly attractive for tourists from all over the world. At least we were quite impressed!

A beautiful panorama opens from the heights: all the small islands near Mauritius are visible, all its magnificent lagoons and bays, picturesque mountains and rocks. A helicopter tour will allow you to look directly into the crater of an extinct volcano and see how flocks of dolphins frolic on the horizon.
