Povela - the ominous island of the plague, where they want to invite tourists

A small island between Venice and Lido, Povella, is one of the most famous and darkest in northern Italy. It is full of terrible events and is shrouded in the most incredible, mystical rumors.

However, the mystery of the ghostly island of the Venetian lagoon is really terrible. It all began in those days when a ruthless "black death" walked around the country, devastating settlement after settlement. Then Povela became a kind of quarantine zone, to which patients with plague were exiled.

They say that about 160,000 people were buried on the island during that period, and many of the souls of the dead, turning into ghosts, have remained to wander around the gloomy island.

In addition, the gloomy reputation of Povelia is reinforced by a psychiatric clinic, which opened here later, in 1922. Her patients claimed that they saw the souls of the dead, whose bodies were mutilated by the plague, heard a whisper and a strange echo. But who will believe the lunatics?

At the same time, the doctor who treated the patients of the clinic actually conducted experiments on them, tortured and condemned him to terrible agony. However, the fate of the local psychiatrist ended no less tragically than the fate of his wards. When they tried to arrest him, he jumped out of the window of the belfry.

Since then, the island has remained abandoned for about half a century, even fishermen tried to swim around with it. But in 2014, Povelia attracted the attention of the Italian businessman Luigi Brignaro, who even acquired it. The Italian decided that the creepy island is an excellent investment, and now expects to develop it in order to subsequently attract tourists.

Meanwhile, the notoriety of the Italian island continues to persist. According to paranormal researchers, Pavel is one of the most terrible places on the planet. For a long time, none of the people who have been here could not survive on the unfortunate piece of land for more than a day.
