The photographer was bitten by a deadly black mamba, but he continued to shoot her

Snakes. Although many rightly fear them, these mysterious creatures are undeniably beautiful. Photographer Mark Light decided to capture their unique beauty in his book Serpentine.

The book is a collection of photos of beautifully lit snakes on a black background, which allows you to best demonstrate the amazing colors and textures of reptiles. Although this publication may be of great interest to snake lovers and herpetologists, the author insists that his work should be regarded as art. "My intention was to investigate the color, shape, and movements of the snakes as subjects, but herpetologists are likely to enjoy these photos too."- says Light.

One of the snakes selected for the book was the deadly black mamba - a very aggressive and poisonous snake from the African continent. Despite the precautions, an accident occurred during the shooting. Mambu was frightened by the red photo cable near the photographer, and the snake rushed to the man's leg. Blood began to pour from the wound of Light.

Despite the extreme toxicity of the poison of black mamba, Light did not go to the hospital after a bite. It should be noted that this is an extremely risky act that contradicts the recommendations of experts. Fortunately for the photographer, the snake either gave a “dry” bite, or the poison immediately left the body due to heavy bleeding.

Looking through his photographs later, Mark Light was amazed that he was able to capture the moment of the bite itself, which you can see in the pictures below.
